ABOUT ME

I’m a Yorkshire-based PR and communications professional with many years of experience. I’m a lover of the arts, good wine, sunshine and Yorkshire.

I found PR following a career working in law and I haven’t looked back. For just two little letters, PR encompasses a great deal and (blows own trumpet) I’m pretty good at it. Essentially, I help spread the word about either you, your business or an event.

I thrive on securing media coverage, shouting about things that I believe in and getting people and businesses noticed. I’m a sociable person, so working with people, creatives, businesses, and the media comes naturally to me - I enjoy starting conversations, connecting people, and writing factual stories.

I’m based in a village called Mapplewell (it’s a hidden gem in my eyes), nestled within the countryside but just off the M1 means that I’m ideally placed for clients all over Yorkshire and beyond.

I’m passionate about supporting local artists, creative organisations, independent businesses and start-ups, across all sectors.

EXPERIENCE

After a successful career working as a solicitor, (which I liked but didn’t LOVE - Alley McBeal has a lot to answer for!), I left law for a new career, not knowing what that even looked like back then. I jumped into a role in the comms and press team at the University of Leeds, this quickly led to role working for an education trust as their Communications and Operations Manager. This role is where I discovered that PR is what I LOVE, its what I was meant to do. From here, I moved to a role in PR and Communications at Leeds Arts University (formerly Leeds College of Art).

I have substantial experience working in a variety of press and communications roles across the arts, education, legal and charitable sectors. I am currently working with practising artists, small businesses and start-ups. I am versatile and able to turn my hand to working for clients in various industries, so do get in touch if you think I can help.
